Friday Pickleball is coming to the UK — but for us, this has always been about much more than selling paddles.
We’re delighted to have been featured in the August 2026 edition of World Pickleball Magazine, in an extensive feature looking at Friday Pickleball, The PickleBros UK and our plans for helping develop a new kind of pickleball culture in Britain.
The article explores a question that sits right at the heart of what we’re trying to build:
What does British pickleball want to become?
More Than Just a Pickleball Brand
When we first discovered Friday, it immediately felt different.
There are plenty of great pickleball brands producing high-performance equipment. But Friday seemed to understand something else about the sport — pickleball should be fun.
The colourful paddles, clothing, humour and the brand’s “It’s Just Pickleball” attitude represent something we believe the UK game needs.
Pickleball can be competitive. It can be serious. Players can train, improve their DUPR rating, enter tournaments and chase medals.
But none of that means we have to lose the reason so many people started playing in the first place.
Because pickleball is fun.
Building Pickleball Culture in the UK
One of the biggest themes in the World Pickleball Magazine feature is culture.
In America, pickleball has developed into far more than simply another racket sport. Around the courts you increasingly find music, food, fashion, events, friendships and communities.
We believe Britain has an opportunity to create its own version of that culture.
Not a copy of America.
Something distinctly British.
We want clubs to have personality. We want events people actually look forward to attending. We want beginners to feel welcome alongside competitive players.
And we want pickleball to become something people identify with beyond the hour they spend on court.
The Friday Pickleball UK Tour
That philosophy is also why we’re taking Friday Pickleball UK on the road.
Rather than simply putting Friday paddles online and waiting for people to buy them, we want to visit the people actually building pickleball.
We’ll be travelling to clubs and communities around the UK with the Friday Pickleball UK Tour, running demo days, events, coaching, social sessions and giving players the opportunity to experience Friday paddles for themselves.
As I said in the magazine:
“I want to be on the ground. I want to visit clubs and visit people. It’s not all about sales. Let’s all grow this sport together.”
That’s exactly what we intend to do.
From The PickleBros to Friday Pickleball UK
The article also explores the relationship between Friday and The PickleBros UK.
The PickleBros started as two friends enjoying pickleball, coaching, travelling, making content and probably not taking ourselves quite as seriously as we should.
In many ways, that’s why Friday feels like such a natural fit.
Both brands believe personality belongs in sport.
As pickleball grows and becomes more professional, we don’t want it to lose the humour, accessibility and slightly rogue character that made people fall in love with it.
Competitive — Without Losing the Community
Pickleball in Britain is changing quickly.
Ratings matter more. Tournament standards are rising. Players are training harder and competition is becoming stronger.
That’s exciting.
But there’s another side that we believe needs protecting.
The new player walking through the door for the first time matters just as much to the long-term future of pickleball as the strongest player on the court.
Strong communities don’t just play upwards.
They bring people with them.
The best version of British pickleball can therefore be competitive, ambitious and high-performance while still being welcoming, social and fun.
Those things don’t have to compete with each other.
This Is Just the Beginning
The UK pickleball scene is still young enough to decide what it wants to become.
That’s incredibly exciting.
Friday can bring colourful paddles, clothing, events and a very different attitude to the market.
But ultimately, the players, clubs, coaches and communities across Britain will create the culture.
Our job is to get out there and be part of it.
The Friday van will be on the road.
The paddles are here.
The events are coming.
And hopefully we’ll meet a huge number of you along the way.
Every day is a Friday.
